Walnut and Almond Cookies -- Moskopungia
 
Ingredients
2 cups coarsely ground Walnuts
1 cup blanched and ground Almonds
1/2 cup Sugar
1 small freshly ground Nutmeg
1 cup Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup orange flower water Water
confectioner's Sugar
 
Preparation

In a bowl, mix well the walnuts, almonds, sugar, nutmeg, and breadcrumbs. Knead with your fingers, adding orange flower water little by little to form a smooth dough.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Line a baking sheet with greased paper. Take tablespoonfuls of dough, wet your fingers with you fingers with orange flower water, and shape the cookies to 2 1/2 inch cresents. Place on the sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, or until firm on the outside but soft inside. Let cool slightly, then remove from the paper be wetting the paper attached to the cookies with a brush. Sprinkle with a little orange flower water and sift confectioner's sugar over to cover them completely.
